Citywide Population • New Orleans added nearly 30,000 residents between 2010 and 2012 • Top 1% of counties nationwide in terms of growth rate, comparable to Loudon (VA), Williamson (TX), and Fort Bend (TX)
Projected Population • Population growth has trended toward high end of GCR projections • Updates reflect most recent trends
Public School Enrollment • Significant decrease in public school enrollment (15%) prior to Katrina • Increase in public school enrollment (14%) has outpaced overall population growth (9%) since 2010
