  2. Goal of this meeting Explore ARRA reporting requirements to date to identify our data infrastructure needs we should start working on now

Types of ARRA Reporting Required Internal Reporting External Reporting Data required by law to report back up to feds Regular (weekly) reporting to federal agency grantors Quarterly reports required by ARRA Section 1512 GAO “longitudinal study” every two months • Data to track how well we are executing against the ARRA opportunity (e.g.,) • Funds won/received • Number and size of contracts bid out / spent over time • Metadata reporting on External Reporting (e.g.,) • % of required data completed • Data reliability analysis (e.g., variability of data over time)

Section 1512 Reporting Requirements • Every calendar quarter, each recipient of ARRA funds has to report, including: • Total amount of funds received • Amount expended or obligated to projects and activities • Completion status of projects • Estimate of number of jobs created and retained • Buyers will want contractors to show an ability to consistently and easily gather, report, and retain reliable data to help them meet these reporting requirements.   5. GAO Requirements Clearly separate ARRA funds from other funds (e.g., 4 digit code) Be able to show what is “physically received” Report out by federal grantor Total ARRA funds expected to come to the District

FederalReporting.gov FederalReporting.gov to be “the gateway for recipients of Federal funds to meet the reporting requirements” from ARRA, Section 1512 • Recipient reporting to begin 180 days after enactment, and for reports to be submitted by recipients 10 days after the end of each calendar quarter. • This results in an initial statutory reporting deadline of October 10, 2009, with quarterly reports due 10 days after the end of each calendar quarter thereafter. • Agencies should instruct recipients to submit reports by October 10, 2009, which cover cumulative activity since the passage of the Recovery Act, including all sub-awards (or modifications to existing awards) made which utilize Recovery Act funding. Therefore, agencies must require recipients to maintain cumulative data through the October 10th reporting period. • OMB will work with agencies to determine the most appropriate method for collecting information from recipients for July 10th reporting. • Detailed reporting instructions will be made available at www.FederalReporting.gov no less than 45 days before the October 10, 2009 reporting deadline.
