This will bring up a window that will allow you to select “Column” guides. Be sure to select “Margins” instead of “Page” to fit the guide to. (You can select “Preview” to see what these guides will look like [they show up in light blue] before selecting “OK”)
Next, select “Show Document Grid” under the “View” menu in order to be sure that your placeholders are even and flush with each other.
Text fields can be drawn anywhere in your document using the “Text Tool.”
Until you insert your actual writing, you must fill the text fields with “Placeholder Texts.” Click “Type” Menu and Scroll Down
In order to make columns, you can right click or click “Object” Menu and select “Text Frame Options.”
Choosing “preview” will allow you to see what the effect of your selection will be. The window that will show up will allow you to set up columns in the selected text field.
In order to add graphic placeholders, use the “Rectangle Frame Tool” from the toolbar.
In order to place an image into an image placeholder, click “File” menu and scroll down to “place”
Once you have selected the image from your computer, the image will show up in the graphic placeholder. Choose “Fit Content To Frame” to have the image scale to fit the image placeholder.
