How do we do the ESL Allotment? 2012 ACCESS scores come back. Who qualifies for ESL service in 2012-2013? (see ESL service guidelines) LEP database with ESL Service data updated. Who receives ESL service? 2012 Assignment file. Where will these LEP students attend school in 2012-2013? The number of LEP students, by ESL site, who qualify for and will receive ESL services in 2012-2013. How many LEP K students will we have in 2012-2013? Must predict based on 2011 K numbers . . .
LEP Retentions – draft guidance • What is the child’s English language proficiency level? • How long has the student been enrolled in a US school? • Are LEP instructional modifications being used and documented in the mainstream classroom (PEP and LEP Plan)? • Are LEP testing accommodations being used consistently and documented for EOQs and EOGs? • Is the child receiving the minimum amount of ESL services? • Are we considering how much progress the child has made in acquiring English and acquiring content knowledge?
