  5. Adverbs • Adverbs modify verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs. • They answer the questions: • Where? • When? • In what way? • To what extent? • They often end with –ly.

  6. Adverbs Modifying Other Adverbs • Adverbs may modify another adverb. • They will again answer “to what extent?” • Again, they will be located directly in front of the modified adverb. • He ran very quickly. .
