Core Elements of R-Package • Outline framework for National REDD+ Strategy is in place; • RWG endorsed to establish Expert Technical Committee representing from GO and non-GO institutions; • Analytical studies for Strategy formulation are in progress; • Bilateral support (USAID , DfID, Finland and Swiss) contributing in R-PP implementation; REDD+ Implementation Framework Reference Emission Level (REL/RL) Monitoring, Reporting and Verification MRV) system Safeguards system National REDD+ Strategy

  7. Core Elements of R-Package • Nested approach with Sub-national projects within defined jurisdictions at landscape/ sub-river basin level; • Benefit transfer from existing forestry institutions and practices for benefit and cost sharing; • Multi-stakeholder led Carbon revenue management board will be established in center to regulate the carbon finance; National REDD+ Strategy Reference Emission Level (REL/RL) Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) system Safeguards system REDD+ Implementation Framework

Core Elements of R-Package • Procurement process is in mid-way; • Technical committee including representatives from GO and non- GO institutions established to facilitate REL development; Progress to date National REDD+ Strategy REDD+ Implementation Framework Monitoring, Reporting and Verification MRV) system Safeguards system Reference Emission Level (REL/RL)

Core Elements of R-Package • Consultant selection process on going; • Technical committee including GO and non- GO members is in place to facilitate MRV development; • Piloting is on going to develop local forest monitoring systems at watershed and landscape level; National REDD+ Strategy REDD+ Implementation Framework Reference Emission Level (REL/RL) Safeguards system Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) system

Core Elements of R-Package • Consultant selection for SESA is in progress; • Interim Indicative strategy options will be proposed to address drivers of D/D , until final strategy is in place ; • REDD+ SES indicators is in final stage through multi-stakeholder led process.
