16. 1. Support to State Extension Programmes for Extension Reforms Scheme (i) Deployment of Man Power 2127 deployed against sanctioned strength of 2777. Remaining 650 posts to be deployed within a month after election. Sahyogi Krishak will start functioning after elections. (ii) Convergence Between Research & Extension Regular interaction between VCs of SAUs and Principal Secretary of Agriculture. Regular interface between research and extension at all KVKs.

17. SBVPUAT, Meerut & Allahabad University have designated Scientist for every district of its jurisdiction. Remaining Universities will complete this work after election. KVKs under the jurisdiction of Meerut and Allahabad Deemed University opened the bank accounts. Remaining KVKs yet to open account. KVK Scientists are actively involved in preparation of BAAPs and Advising BTT on researchable issues.

18. (iii) Pace of Fund Utilization (Central Share + State Share) Total Funds available upto 31-01-2012 Rs. 6880.45 Lakh Funds utilized upto 31-01-2012 Rs. 4889.97 Lakh. Percentage of utilization of funds 71.07% Likely total utilization of funds by the end of Feb 2012 Rs. 5512.97 Lakh. Likely utilization of funds by the end of Feb 2012 80.12% Atleast 20 crore central share may be released at the earliest.

19. (iv) Setting up of Farmers Advisory Committees (v) Third Party Monitoring & Evaluation for the Year 2010-11 • Third Party M&E Work for the year 2010-11 assigned to U.P. Council of Agriculture Research (UPCAR) with the approval of IDWG. • M&E Report of I & II Quarter of the year already submitted by UPCAR. • Reports for remaining two quarters along with annual report likely to be submitted very soon. Report on setting up of Farmers Advisory Committee at different level (State, District and Block) already submitted.

Mass Media Support to Agriculture Extension • Progress • State & District level mass media support to agriculture extension committee’s formed. • Meeting of SLC will be organized after election. • 293 spots of 15 minutes and 675 spots of 30 seconds broadcasted by A.I.R. on different agricultural programmes. • 89 spots of 40 seconds and 230 spots of 30 seconds broadcasted by Doordarshan on different agricultural programmes. • 7 Advertisements through daily news papers for dissemination of Agricultural technology. • Information about agricultural technology and different scheme through departmental website – www.agriculture.up.nic.in • Monthly publication such as “Krishi aur Pashupalan”, “Krishi Chintan” magazines, Exhibitions, Farmer Fair, Leaflets, Folders etc.

21. Setting up Community Radio Stations (CRSs) • Proposal received – 9 • Complete proposals sent to Agriculture & Cooperation Deptt., Govt. of India – 9 • CRS established and operationlized – 1 KVK, Saharanpur. • LOI issued – 4 (KVK, Jalaun, Bagpat, CARD, Lakhimpur & SVBP University of Technology, Modipuram, Meerut). • Proposal rejected by IMC – 1 (KVK, Haidergarh, Barabanki) • WPC requested to reconsider proposal - HANSA, Gorakhpur. • Processing fees not submitted – KVK, Basti. • Meeting of Screening Committee – KVK, Aligarh was not present.

22. 3. Establishment of Agri-Clinics & Agri-Business Centres (ACABC) • So far 4996 unemployed Agriculture Graduates trained under Agri clinic / Agri business scheme by 11 institutions. • 2157 Trained Agri Clinic / Agri-Business Centres established. • Extension Activities being implemented by 209 Agri prenuers of these Agri Clinics in their respective blocks. • Demonstration • Farmers Training • Kisan Gosthi • Exposure Visit • Capacity Building • It is worth mentioning that almost all the Extension Activities are being implemented by Agri Prenuers in Varanasi and Ghazipur Districts.

Diploma in Agricultural Extension Services for Input Dealers (DAESI) • Diploma Programme in Agriculture Extension already designed by SIMA and 4 year’s programme approved by IDWG. • Approved cost of programme Rs. 50.40 Lakh • Duration of the programme 3 months. • About 76,000 registered input dealers in UP. • 1800 selected dealers would be benefited. • Farmers likely to be benefited about 3.60 Lakh.
