A sentence starts with a capital letter and ends with a punctuation mark (! ? . …) • A fragment does NOT express a complete thought. • Sometimes a subject (who or what) is missing. Example: My likes to snowboard. • Sometimes a verb (action word) is missing. • Example: Stan, Sara, and Chan to snowboard. • Don’t confuse an imperative sentence with a fragment. Example: Go! (The subject you is implied).
