  5. InfoComm Standards InfoComm is an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited standards developer, developing standards for the AV industry. Current approved standards include: • Audio Coverage Uniformity in Enclosed Listener Areas • Standard Guide for Audiovisual Systems Design and Coordination Processes • Projected Image System Contrast Ratio • Audiovisual Systems Energy Management

Positive Learning Environment Positive Learning Environment: • InfoComm strives to foster a learning environment that is free from intimidation, hostility, harassment or other actions which might interfere with student learning. • It is inappropriate to make negative comments about companies or competitors products. • Notify InfoComm staff of any offensive behavior or remarks. • Any student who misses two hours or more of class time will not complete the course.

Place in the AV Industry • Wants and Needs—Relates to the sales process • Design—Documents and explains the details of the project • Install—Relates to the assembly, testing and commissioning of the system • Support—Involves the maintenance of hardware, software, and ongoing customer support • Customer— Or the “client,” around whom these activities are centered is an owner or user of the equipment or service
