  2. Introduction Introduction Task Process Product Expected Evaluation • Investigative studies and news reports have shown an increase in the use of anabolic steroids in professional and amateur athletics. In fact, your local Board of Education has recently discovered that the use of these drugs has now trickled down to high school and middle school athletes in your district who are looking for an edge over their opponents. • After a review of local procedure, your Board of Education (BOE) has discovered that the district policy is lacking in guidelines specific to the testing of students for anabolic steroids that could enhance performance in athletic competition. As a result the Board wants to draft policy ASAP.

Based on the research of each individual member, the panel as a whole will reach a conclusion and make recommendations regarding how the BOE should address the issue of testing for steroid use by student athletes.  This will include disciplinary measures to be taken if students test positive for steroids. Your teacher will provide you with resources to complete your research.
