Current Programs Under SPD Purview • LPOE Modernization – ARRA Funded (Replacement of 9 LPOE’s, Emergent Repairs, R&A, and Mission Enhancement) • Land Border Integration Initiative (RFID Technology, License Plate Readers, LED Signage, Dual Use Booths, Pedestrian Re-engineering, and Outbound LPR) • CBP Field Operations Facility (Outbound Tier 3 Program; Port Hardening Program) • Radiation Portal Monitors (detection of low level materials) • Non-Intrusive Inspection (High Energy Gantry, Low Energy Portals, Z-Portals) • CBP Housing Program (Prototype Design, New Housing Developments, R&A) • Homeland Security Data Network (security hardening of HSDN rooms) • Transportation Security Administration (Puppy Pavilion) • US-VISIT (10-Print, Land Exit)
Reimbursable Work Authorizations (RWA) The Special Programs Division • has received over $360 million in funding from the Department of Homeland Security for it's programs • currently has a balance of $102 million • expecting an additional $75M in FY 11
SPD Roles and Responsibilities • Interface with DHS Agencies at National Level • Assist DHS in Implementing Programs at Borders • Coordinate the Programs/Projects: • Across Programs • Across Regions • Active Prospectus Projects • Provide Program/Construction Management Services • Provide Procurement Services • Manage the RWA funds
