  9. General Characteristics • Relatively new to the area (1990) – Migrants • Predominantly Mexican American and Puerto Rican • Largest % change 1980 – 2000 is scattered • Largest areas of concentration are in Louisiana (New Orleans) and west of Greenville Arkansas • Many are of unknown origin
