  4. Pre-Requirements for Med Help Veterinarians • ANY veterinarian that would like to participate in Med Help’s forums, must first register at PetDocsOnCall.com, and then agree to and sign our PDOC Participant Agreement. • This assures a basic understanding of medical/legal principles and is protection for all involved. • Further, we would like for you to participate at PDOC to become accustom to forum language and processes. (Training is available to you at any convenient time via phone call with Tom or Dr. Jim) • The Med Help forum system is actually easier to use, but we have less control over some important aspects of what is displayed.

  5. PDOC Participant Agreement: • This is a document we must have all veterinarians who participate in our forums sign. • It describes the manner in which a professional may answer a question where a Veterinary-Client-Patient-Relationship (VCPR) does not exist. • This form was carefully researched and crafted after consult with every State Board of Veterinary Examiners, and with the American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB). • Already over 100 VNN members who wish to participate in our forums have electronically clicked in agreement with the “PA” and we believe it is our best form of medical / legal protection for all.

  15. Answering questions • We suggest you compose your answers in a text editor and save them. • We cannot offer a diagnosis via the Internet, but we can offer specific information and suggestions. • We do not know that questioners have given us complete and accurate medical information, therefore it is best to make sure your answers contain qualifying phrases such as: • “There may be several possible causes for the symptoms you have described…” • “Based on the test results you listed in your question, it appears your pet may have ‘XYZ’ disorder. However, to be certain you and your veterinarian may want to consider the following additional tests …” • If there is a specialist in our group who can help the questioner further, please don’t hesitate to let the questioner know that we will ask our specialists to post, or to post the question in a more specialized forum. • Every answer will automatically be tagged with a disclaimer statement. Therefore, you do not need to include a disclaimer in your answers.
