Summary • Fadil’s older sister, Ikhlas, is getting married • Fadil’s younger sister, Bashira, is upset about Ikahlas leaving • Bashira and Fadil decide to make Ikahlas a present • They choose to plant an amaryllis flower for her • The gift box they put it in causes the flower to die • Aunt Rasha teaches them The Engineering Design Process • They redesign the box to support the flower and keep it alive

  6. Modifications • Instead of having pre-made boxes, you could distribute pieces of cardboard and have the students design a package • Could be used for 4th-5th grade • You could create it to be a challenge for the class to see who could make the most creative package • All grades
