  8. With the build-up of enough pressure the Earth will break and the plates will move suddenly causing an earthquake. This “break” place is called the EPICENTRE. • Cool fact: An earthquake shakes the planet about every 3 minutes or 180 000 times each year. • Q: Look at a map and locate a region that you expect there to be a high frequency of earthquakes in North America. Why there?
