The Pacific oyster, Crassostrea gigas, is well-established in Northwest Mexico. Recurrent mortality episodes have been occurring since 1997, with oyster herpesvirus disease as a major cause. This project aims to establish a national network for monitoring the environmental conditions in aquaculture areas to better understand diseases and promote sustainable oyster production.
