Objectives • Boost ENGINE team competencies in the Network Intelligence. • Make new connections among well-known researchers and ENGINE team. • Develop directions of research focusing on EU’s priorities: environment, global change and industrial applications. • Increase the ENGINE Centre participation in FP7 and similar programs in future (Horizon 2020). WT4.1Complex Network Analysis and Mining Researcher (12M) • Over 300 papers, over 500 citations, h index =11 • Program chair of IEEE IRI-2008-13, OSINT-WM-2008-13,ASONAM-2009-13, CASON-2009-2010, MS-2007-10. • Founding editor in chief of the Springer “Journal of Social Networks Analysis and Mining” and Springer Series “Lecture Notes on Social Networks”, • Editor of Springer Encyclopedia of Social Network Analysis and Mininig, 2014 • Research interests: social networks, computational biology and bioinformatics, data mining, multiagent systems, schema integration and re-engineering, XML • Prof. Alhajj recently received with Dr. Jon Rokne donation of equipment valued at $5 million from RBC and Teradata for their research on the Computational Intelligence and Bioinformatics research. WT4.2 Social and Semantic Network Analysis Researcher (12M) • Prof. Szymański’s current research projects focus on dynamical processes on networks, hidden groups in social networks, sensor network protocols and algorithms, and large–scale parallel and distributed computing and simulation. • He is currently Claire and Roland Schmitt Distinguished Professor of Computer Science, Director of the Social Cognitive Network Academic Research Center, part of NS CTA, funded by the ARL, and Director of the Network Science and Technology Center (NeST). • He published over a hundred of journal articles, over twenty book chapters and nearly two hundreds conference papers. WT4.7 Human-Computer Interaction Researcher (24M) • The expert inusability testing, especially using differenttypes of gaze tracking equipment. • The main goal of the laboratory leader is obtaining the national certificatein usability testing. • The expert should have Ph.D. for at least 5 years and also a significant record of cited publications (sum IF > 10, and h-index>3) in the area of usability testing. • The candidate should also have asignificant record (at least 6) of the finished usability testing experiments as a leader of the testing group. WT4.8 Expirenced laroratory Technician (30M) • The experienced laboratory technician should be an expert in maintenance of complex computer laboratories. • The main goal of the laboratory technician is to maintain and develop ENGINE laboratories enumerated in WT5.1 and WT 5.2. • The technician should hold MSc degree in computer science for at least 3 years and also has atleast 3 year experience in computer laboratory maintenance and supervision, including large scale mainframesand cloud / grid computing. WT4.8 Expirenced laroratory Technician (30M) • Change (will be submitted). • Spliting the responsibilities into two separate positions with different expertise: • hardware and system administrator (supporting and developing the hardware configuration, operational systems, virtualization, backups, etc.) • software and service administrator (supporting and developing the hadoop, distributed R, other services, taking care of high laboratory utilization). • The proposed split will preserve the initial budget and will facilitate efficient management and use of ENGINE laboratory. Expected outcom of WT4 • Conduct cutting edge, high impact research that shapes the field of Network Intelligence. • Increase of the research expertise. • Gain exceptional experiences in cooperation with industry. • Write common high quality research papers including journal papers and the best conferences, what should strongly increase ENGINE team visibility. • Boosting collabration with team memebers from primary professor's universities. • Double diploma for PhD studs especially with USA and Canada (not included in DoW), external PhD students at WrUT, co-supervising PhD theses. • Preparation of international and national grant proposals (some proposals have been already sent to Polish National Science Center).
