    2. About the Network… The New York State Black Gay Network (NYSBGN) is a state-wide membership coalition of 15 diverse organizations in the five urban centers of New York Sate. NYSBGN has been established for over eight years; our goal is to assist organizations, communities, and the government with responding appropriately to the needs of Black men who practice same-sex desire.

    3. About the Campaign! Multi-faceted- Community Organizing Social Marketing Research Goals: Challenge & decrease homophobia directed towards black gay men To decrease the stigma associated with HIV/AIDS within black communities Build leaders in Black communities to educate and challenge silence Generate new knowledge about needs of and interventions for Black gay Men

    5. The Creative Process Organized a 32 member Coalition for the Campaign for Black Gay Men’s Lives, including: NYSBGN member Orgs, affiliate orgs and individuals Partnered with Better World Advertising Geared messages to mainstream Black community Concept tested w/Black Str8 & Gay/Bi groups

    6. Unveiling the Campaign 300 Full Subway Posters in Bedstuy & East NY, Brooklyn, West, Central & East Harlem and Jamaica, Queens Two 28’ wide x 48’ tall Wallscapes @ 125th Broadway Website (www.wearepartofyou.com) Post cards and Posters

    9. Reach so far… Over 8,000 website hits from all over the world (USA, Europe, Africa, Asia, etc…) MTA estimates: 393,120,000 viewers over 4 weeks Media coverage: WB11, FOX 5, A.A./Black publications & Blogs all over the world Gay media: LOGO, Blade, Gay City
