Delivery Approaches: • Large Local Authority Library with in-house training capability: Library must have or achieve SQA approved centre status.Responsible for : Training, Assessment, QA and Administration. • Consortium of smaller Libraries from the same or different Local AuthoritiesOption 1 : One library must have or achieve SQA approved centre status and take responsibility for QA and Administration for all. Option 2: Consortium forms Partnerships with a SQA approved college or private training provider who takes responsibility for QA and Administration for all.
Delivery Approaches: • SQA Approved Training Providers (College or Private)Responsible for: Assessment, Quality Assurance and Administration and training if needed. Offering complete T & A service to employers and individual learners. Note: Providers must have or buy-in staff with Public Library expertise to carry out assessment of the Reader Development Unit. • Provider / Library Partnerships Typical arrangements: Library responsible for: Training and production of authenticated assessment evidence using library supervisors / mentors. SQA Approved Provider responsible for: Assessment & Quality Assurance (IV) and Administration ( Registration, Entry and Resulting).Note :Formal evidence of partnership agreement arrangements required for SQA Approval for partnership delivery.
Assessment Methods Workplace based assessment using a variety of methods including: • Logbooks • Essays (Short 250 words min 500 max) • Case studies • Reports • Practical Tasks e.g. simple & complex searches • Reflective Accounts • Short Question Tests
