Joining adjectives (adj stem) + ku + te a. That watch is small and expensive. そのとけいは、ちいさくて、たかいです。 stem + I たか・い
More on joining adj. • That book closer to you is difficult and long. その本はむずかしくて、ながいです。 c. Who is smart and handsome? だれが、あたまがよくて、ハンサムですか。
Joining nouns or na-nouns Noun + de a. The teacher is a Japanese and short. せんせいは日本人で、せがひくいです。 b. Michiko is energetic and kind. みちこさんは、げんきで、しんせつです。 c. My part-time is not busy and boring. アルバイトはひまで、つまらないです。
Translate. • (I) ate lunch at a cafeteria and studied at the library. • My mother has a long hair and wears glasses. • I am sorry for forgetting my textbook. (Use “te/de form of “forget” to explain the reason.) • Ms. Sakamaki is tall and very very very pretty. • My older sister’s car is fast and cool. • What food is delicious and inexpensive?
