Israelites The Israelites where lead on a exodus by Abraham. Abrahams son Isaac had a son called Jacob, who was later known as Israel. About 1225 B.C. Moses (the leader of the Israelites) led a revolt against the Egyptians. God spoke to Moses and gave him the ten commandments which soon be came a important part of Judaism.
Lydian's The Lydians lived in an area northwest of Phoenicia. The land of Lydia later became known as Asia Minor or Anatolia. Like the Phoenicians, the Lydians made a major contribution. In 600 B.C. the Lydians invented coins, they also would put slits (little cuts) in the side of thee coin so
Phoenicians • The Phoenicians where the first to create and use the alphabet for communication with different cultures. • Phoenicia had 4 different city-states such as Byblos, Sidon, Tyre, and Berytus. • The Phoenicians also worshiped the color purple. • Phoenician sailors also explored the Atlantic to the south.
Persians • Cyrus the Great built the Persian Empire. Cyrus was born about 590 B.C. he was also known as a fair leader. • He won every battle except for his final one the one he died in. With Cyrus's death his son Cambyses took over. • After Cambyses death Darius took over. Darius started the couriers or horseback riders to communicate with his satraps.
