Initiatives taken for Coverage of OSC • Special Enrolment drives conducted during the months of June and July • Tracking of out of school children enrolled in RBCs and other AIE centers • Maintenance of database of out-of-school children – habitation-wise • Identification of localities having highest number of out of school children • Conduct of mobilization and sensitization camps for parents and children • Interventions for coverage of Children With Special Needs - conduct of assessment camps, providing aids and appliances, online monitoring of children enrolled in AIE centers, implementation of home based education etc. • Special focus on slum areas, construction sites, migrating children for their enrolment. • Running of transit homes for street children and children of migrant children.

Initiatives for bridging gender and social category gaps • Implementation of vocational training to girls – preparation of Sanitary napkins, life skills,etc. • Providing self learning material for slow learners. • Organizing motivational camps to mothers. • Opening of ECE/Child Care Centers to release girls from Sibling Care.

Initiatives taken to increase the Retention and Transition • Improving linkages between school and community • Creating joyful atmosphere in the school • Discouraging repetitions in the classes and ensuring regular transition from one class to another • Monitoring of attendance of pupils and teachers regularly -identification of irregular children, taking steps for their regular attendance • Implementation of Computer Aided Learning • Practicing child-centered, activity-based, competency-oriented teaching methods in classroom transaction • Class responsibility to teachers in order to pay more individual attention and care

Initiatives taken to improve Quality • Implementation of CLAPS to improve reading, writing and arithmetic skills among children • Special strategies for class I & II children to improve the competency levels in school subjects viz., Mathematics, Science, Social, English etc. • Establishment of classroom and school libraries • Implementation of innovations viz., school postbox, wall magazine, children’s diary, teachers’ diary, school cabinets etc. • Preparation and supply of children literature • Providing remedial material to enhance the performance of ‘B’ grade children • Regular monitoring of children performance under CLAPS
