  1. RadMon positions near end of TI 8 Comparison between BCT readings and hadronfluences; dose calculations. Full SPS batch on TED seems likely to cause some hiccups on electronics in UA87. Interested to see higher intensities soon, to evaluate need for counter-measures (additional shielding ?). Shielding wall UJ88-UA87 • Shielding Wall : • Ad hoc design • Not based on MC simulations • Several holes in the wall • Radiation from TED propagates into UJ87/UA87 • PCs for warm magnets at < 1 m distance from the shielding wall • No electronics in UA87 has been designed with radiation as a constraint • Blocking of holes was discussed in R2E • Committee in January 2008, see : • http://r2e.web.cern.ch/R2E/FollowUp/LHCducts_roesler.pdf
