  1. Using the t-table – Warm Up • In small groups, answer question # 1 and 2 on page 541.

  2. The Inference Book • To address writing responses for open-ended questions, we will be creating an inference book. This will be a tool that you will be responsible for maintaining and that I will take a grade for as well. Think of it as daily practice for your skills. • Requirements: One braddedfolder (I supply) and notebook paper (on you).

  3. Table of contents • Date • Topic • Page Number 4/16/12 Interpreting Confidence Interval p. 1

  4. Randomly Sampled Data • The following data were collected from a SRS of moths. The data are the masses of the moths in milligrams.

  5. Group Work • Your group will be responsible for determining if the data can be used to create a confidence interval. • Check all conditions first. Identify outliers and determine if they should be excluded. • Include a histogram to determine the skew • Determine the appropriate critical value for t and show all work in creating your confidence interval. • Due by end of class.

  6. Inference Book • Your first entry will be an interpretation of the confidence level that your group created. • Any assumptions that you made should be included. • If you have eliminated outliers or modified the data in any way, that should also be mentioned.
