Since 1998 telecom staff has shrank… What is going to happen now?
Since 1998 telecom share in total employment has been shrinking
Mobile telecom staff is smaller than 0.2% of total employment
Share of the mobile staff is still small but continuously grows
Conclusions • Total telecommunication employment has been shrinking for few years; trend has changed only recently • Telecom employment as a share of total is decreasing gradually • Mobile revolution significantly influenced the overall efficiency of the telecommunication sector • The efficiency growth can be observed in fixed telecom sector as well; this trend will be enforced through migration to the NGN
