CODE OF CONDUCT • severalyear-longproject • preparatory stage – since 2006 • 9th December 2009 – conference in Warsaw with FES (cyber harassment included) Actions to be taken : • discussion and exchange of goodpractices and international initiatives • presentation of theproject to ZNPmembers (origin, principles, goals) • presentation of educationalpackage (model training materials) • organisation of conferences (from January to June 2010) – feedback on thepackage; fillinginevaluationforms)

CODE OF CONDUCT Project goals and objectives : • to raise awareness • to improve the quality of relations • to improve the status and legal protection of education workers • to create a favourable social atmosphere towards & among teachers • to enhance professional and ethical responsibility towards pupils, colleagues and parents

CODE OF CONDUCT Timeframe: • analysis of forms, rectifications, supplement to the package July - August 2010 • design and layout – September 2010 • printing – October 2010 • presentation at the Convention and adoption of the code – November 2010 • 4-year-long implementation – from January 2011 on

Existingmeasures- cyberharassmentprevention - • Hotline for Teachers • anonymous, free of charge consultations targeted at teachers • professional educators and psychologists • May 2007 – December 2009 • Social Labour Inspectorate – a national unit • supervising labour law’s implementation at school • ensuring safe and healthy working conditions • protecting employees’ rights.

  7. Existingmeasures- cyberharassmentprevention - • Coalition for Equal Chances - anti-discrimination group - 27 different organisations and associations, including the only trade union – ZNP - 1st meeting - 19th April 2010

  8. ZNP PROJECT • close cooperation with partner institutions tackling cyber harassment: - state institutions (CMPPP – in-service teacher training institution) - NGOs : FDN – Nobody’s Children Foundation CBOS – Public Opinion Research Centre

  9. ZNP PROJECT - cooperation - Nobody’s Children Foundation (FDN) – initiatives: • nationwide campaign „Child on the Internet” • action „Stop to cyber bullying” • project „Sieciaki.pl” (Internet users) • Helpline.org.pl

ZNP PROJECT- cooperation - • review of available materials on cyber harassment: * researchprogrammes - „Internet threats to children” (2004, 2006; FDN) - „Children’sexposure to dangerouscontent on the Web” (2006; FDN) - „Peerbullying and electronic media” (2007; FDN) - „Portait of the Internet user” (2009, CBOS) - „Usingthe Internet” (2009) - „The Internet risks” (2009)

  11. ZNP PROJECT- cooperation - * reports - „Aggression and violence at school” questionnaire surveys conducted in 1997, 2003, 2007 * e-books targeted at teachers, children and parents - „How to react to cyber harassment” (FDN, CMPPP) - „Safe Internet”

  12. ZNP PROJECT • conference in 2011 – collection of good practices from regions – organised in cooperation with GEW • brochure & how-to book to be published • training 1 specialist in each region – counselling on discrimination • creation of ZNP Equal Committee

ZNPEqual Treatment Committeeprogramme • drawing up a concept for the activity of equal treatment experts at ZNP district committees (experience, achievements, practices) • training courses for equal treatment experts (anti-discrimination law, equality in education, good practice examples) – experience shared by GEW • seminar on equal treatment (1st session of the Committee on 25th November 2010) • dissemination and promotion of materials
