  3. The distance from the sun • The distance from the Earth to the Sun is 93 million miles (150 million miles). This all equals 1 AU or Astronomical unit from the Sun.

  4. What earth is made of • The Earth is made of 3 things the core, the mantle and the earths crust. The crust is made of dirt and rock, the mantle is made of lava and the core is made of iron and nickel they are two important metals.

  5. Earth’s moon • Earth has only one moon. Neil Armstrong was the first to step on the moon.

  6. Earths name • Earth got its name from an English/ German name. That means ground from old English words eor(th)e and ertha.

  7. One day on earth • One day on Earth is accually 24 hours and 56 minutes. People thought that is was only 24 hours but scientists found out that it is 24 hours and 56 minutes.

  8. Fun facts • Earth is the only planet in the solar system that has liquid water. Earth is more than 4 billion years old. Earths closest neighbors are Mars and Venus. Earth is the only planet that has an atmosphere containing 21 percent of oxygen. Earth has a powerful magnetic field caused by the nickel and iron core of the planet coupled with its rapid rotation. This field protects the Earth from the effects of solar winds.
