Who we are • National, non-profit organization • Provide children affected by a parent’s cancer with a supportive, lifelong camp community that recognizes and understands their unique needs • Empower college students to make a difference and build invaluable leadership skills by developing and managing every aspect of our Camp Kesem chapter • Partnered with LiveStrong
Camp Kesem at Indiana University • Camp Kesem started bringing magic to families in central and southern Indiana in 2005 with about 20 campers • This year, our goal is to bring 100 campers to Camp Carson • Our fundraising goal is $65,000
Camp Kesem at Indiana University • 6 Committees that organize camp • Camper Care—recruit campers; stay in contact with families throughout the year • Abi “Kitty” and Lisa “Bandaid” • Fundraising—organize fundraising events • Kristen “Crush”, Michael “Shammy”, and Paul “Achilles” • Make the Magic—plan fundraising brunches in Bloomington, Indianapolis, and Evansville • Haley “Phineas” • Student Support—get college students involved in Camp Kesem; maintaining contact with our current members • Michaela “Panda” and Patrick “Refill” • Programming—plan every activity for the week of camp; recruit special guests • Emily “Squirrel” and Lisa “Bandaid”
