  2. Safety MANAGER’S RESPONSBILITIES – SAFETY! SAFETY IS EVERYBODY’S BUSINESS! Weekly employee safety meeting, make safety a culture. Conduct safety meeting immediately following a reportable incident. Quarterly safety meetings are to be held, documented with employee signatures and must be kept on file. Research and investigate all injuries with affected parties. Complete the Injury/Illness/Vehicle Accident-Investigation Report Awareness: keep preaching and communicating with all employees Emails, Newsletters, Weekly Safety Meetings and Managers

  3. Safety BUILDING BLOCKS Create a culture of safety Have managers preach and lead safety on a daily basis. Instill a zero tolerance for avoidable injuries Instill the motto, work place injuries don’t stop hurting after working hours Keep communication levels up Share the safety numbers company wide, how we’re doing YTD Acknowledgements and reward Look for suggestions from the employees and reward them for their suggestions

  4. Safety OUR GOAL IS TO CREATE A CULTURE OF SAFETY. TO ACHIEVE THIS CULTURE WE MUST: • Admit our own mistakes when they occur, and feeling empowered and supported to speak up when we see another’s • Continuously evaluating our processes and procedures to identify areas of improvement and then implementing these improvements. • Hold people accountable for their work and their actions • Learn from errors so we don’t repeat them.

Safety GUIDELINES IN THE EVENT AND INDICENT OCCURS: • As part of Consolidated Comfort Group, it is important the Safety Department is notified immediately of an Employee Injury, Vehicle Accident / Property Damage. • Please use the reports located on the Baker I-net - Corporate / Education / Baker College/Safety – (forms are regularly updated). • Employee Injury Report • Vehicle Accident Report • Accident and Injury Follow Up Report (complete and forward to Zone Manager/RVP/President for sign off within 24 hours of the incident)

Safety GENERAL GUIDELINES – EMPLOYEE INJURY: • If our employee is injured on the job - EMPLOYEE responsibility to report it, MANAGEMENT to document / report to SAFETY (Jacksonville). • If our employee is injured on the job, they are REQUIRED TO SUBMIT to a drug screen within 8 hours of the incident. • Management should make the decision whether Medical attention is required (employee could be in shock, or not realize seriousness of injury). • If our employee asks to seek Medical attention, they cannot be refused. • If our employee seeks medical attention, you are required to call Gallagher Bassett. • If it is decided (manager and employee) that medical attention is NOT required (employee signature), you are NOT required to call Gallagher Bassett. • If our employee re-injures, aggravates a previous injury, or experiences a new injury – the process of recording and reporting starts over again. • IF OUR EMPLOYEE HAS A WORK RELATED INJURY, the employee should not seek medical attention through their own insurance– once that conversation starts, the medical practitioner will treat as worker comp. – if not documented, it can open up a can of worms.

Safety GENERAL GUIDELINES – VEHICLE ACCIDENTS: • If our employee is involved in a Vehicle Accident - EMPLOYEE responsibility to report it, MANAGEMENT to document / report it to SAFETY (Jacksonville). • If our employee is involved in a Vehicle Accident, they are REQUIRED TO SUBMIT to a drug screen within 8 hours of the incident. • Management should make the decision whether Medical attention is required (employee could be in shock, or not realize seriousness of injury). • If an employee asks to seek Medical attention, they cannot be refused. • If our employee and/or “Other Vehicle” occupant seeks medical attention, you are required to call Gallagher Bassett.

Safety GENERAL GUIDELINES – VEHICLE ACCIDENTS: • If it is decided (manager and employee) that employee medical attention is NOT required (employee signature), you are NOT required to call Gallagher Bassett. • If our employee is at fault in the accident, you are required to report it to Gallagher Bassett. • If our employee is NOT at fault, you are NOT required to report it to Gallagher Bassett. • CCG is self-insured – please submit Other Vehicle information, police report, etc – Subrogation Process to recover vehicle repair / damage claim. • If our employee caused property damage ONLY, you are NOT required to call Gallagher Bassett. • CCG is self-insured – please submit Property Damage estimate, police report – CCG Liability claims are approved / paid by Jacksonville

Safety SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS: • In a strong safety culture, everyone feels responsible for safety and pursues it on a daily basis; employees go beyond the call of duty to identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and intervene to correct them. For instance, in a strong safety culture, any worker would feel comfortable reminding the sales center manager or owner to wear safety glasses. This type of behavior would not be viewed as forward or overzealous but would be valued by the organization. Likewise co-workers routinely look out for one another and point out unsafe actions and conditions to each other.

  10. Safety SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS (CONTINUED): • To improve our safety culture even more here at Baker. Please be sure that you and your employees are using the proper safety equipment while working. Listed below are some examples of what your sales center should have available. • Kevlar Gloves/Belt Clips • Back Braces • Goggles • Eye Washing Stations • First Aid Kit • Wheel Chocks/Signs If you need any of these items listed please contact me directly and I will get them to you.
