  2. Bones • The first section of nouns • Why do nouns exist? • To name people, places and things. • What can things be?

  3. Continue… • Things can be Tangible (objects in which you can touch, smell, hear, hold) • Intangible (feelings, ideas, abstract concepts) • Using common generic words

  4. Timerman uses this. • “Ex. The cell is narrow. When I stand at its center, facing the steel door, I can’t extend my arms • “A stroke of luke, for in the celI previously occupied”

  6. Plain Nouns • Can be strong • Strong nouns convey vivid images • Powerful Emotions

  7. Examples • “Kiss” is preferable compared to “demonstration of affection” • However, don’t forget the options • Such as; • “Home” is familiar, short and standard. However, to describe a one-story house with a low pitched roof, why not consider “bungalow?”

What does it mean to chose the right noun? • Choosing the right noun means exploring the layers of a word • This is included in three ways: • 1) Precision (exact images you are rendering) • 2) Richness (connotations conjuring a real of emotion of sensation. Cozy) • 3) Suitability (its link to other words & ideas must complement your meaning)

Pretense • Pretense refers to a false or unsupportive quality • Choosing right words for the subjects, audience, and the forum without losing your speech • Example. • “When a father talking to his child’s teacher mentions a “colloquy” with his seven-year-old daughter, he is not being articulate, he being ridiculous.

  11. Gobbledygook • Gobbledygook refers to impossible to understand or nonsense • Explaining the main point by simple terms • Examples: Pupil station (translation: desk) • Human interment space (translation: cemetery)

Euphmesh • Euphemism is the substitution of a soft agreeable expression instead of one that is harsh or unpleasant.  • For examples-“Pass away” as opposed to “die”. • “Husky” as opposed to “heavy “Disabled” as opposed to “handicapped” “Disinformation” as opposed to “lie” • “Senior citizen” as opposed to “old”

  16. Carnal Pleasure • Nouns are not like what most people thought they are. They’re actually can have fun with. • People may think or treat Nouns mostly too hard to play with because they’re crisp and concrete. • People are using Nouns always for serious description

  17. ----Explanation of part of speech: • EX: “Bangs manes bouffant beehives (the hairstyle) Beatle caps butter faces brush on lashes decal eyes puffy sweater French bras (make up) … shank shelf boots ballerinas” (dresses ) [ Using different specific Nouns to describe an image of the supermodel. Like the ways she looks, and the ways how she acts and moves. These nouns are as beautiful as the supermodel].

Nouns could be independent by themselves, they connect themselves into sentences without any verb, adi, and prep. • ----Explanation of second part of speech: • EX: “Dear Mr. Frauenfelder, blah, blah, blah, Myst blah, blah… Cyan blah, blah, blah…” (This is what editors read because it was fun for them to read, also called pressure release. It tells people don’t need to tell too much information but to tell few key Nouns, like the names of the product, which going to be sold).
