    2. Who invented origami ? Actually nobody knows who invented origami. Origami started in China and then moved to Japan. Origami also began after Buddhist monks carried paper to Japan during the 6th century. The first origami was used in for religious ceremonies because of the high price of paper.

    3. More origami info Ori in origami stands for folding and kami for paper. At first there was very little paper available so only the rich could afford to do paper folding.

    4. Important people Akira Yoshizawa of Japan is considered the “Father of modern origami” because of his creative paper folding . He also developed a set of symbols and terms that are used world wide in origami instructions.
