The life cycle of the damselflies • It’s order Odonata • Suborder-Zygoptera • 15-39 mm • the abdomen is usallyproportionately long slender • Found mainly near shallow freshwater habitats • Have large eyes • Have extendable jaws • They actively hunt small aquatic insect on aquatic vegitation • Gills are large and external • Attention it is creepy

  3. Damselflies life cycle They go through a incomplete metamorphosis Females lay eggs [oviposit] in plant tissues or wet wood and underwater They start as a nymph Nymphs are carnivourous The catch their victims with large mouth parts to chrunch them. Live in freshwater

  4. How does it look !!!!!!!!! • It’ s graceful fliers with slender bodies and long filmy . • Colors can be stunnigly vivid. • They hold there wings when they rest • Their wings are almost indentical in their size ,shape and in the vein patterns • They are small
