  3. ABOUTUNIVERSITY • The Rajmata VijayarajeScindia Krishi Vishwavidyalaya is one of the best agricultural public research universities located in India. Therefore, established in 2008, university has the aim of spreading of education especially higher education in the fields of agriculture. Further th, t lead to deeper socio and economic development. The University covers a vast arena of disciplines and encompasses various faculties such as agriculture, horticulture, veterinary science and animal husbandry. Therefore, the territorial jurisdiction of the Vishwa Vidyalaya is spread over 26 districts of Madhya Pradesh. These include the following: • Five (5) Colleges (four (4) Agriculture, and one (1) Horticulture); • Five (5) Zonal Agricultural Research Stations (ZARS); • Four (4) Regional Agricultural Research Stations (RARS); • Six (6) Special Research Stations (SRS) and • Nineteen (19) Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs).

  4. ABOUTUNIVERSITY • The University represents a well knit and action oriented network of research and education centres operating in agriculture and allied fields in the state. Moreover, the overall climate varies from semi arid to sub humid with hot summer, cool and dry winter and 600-1000 mm mean rainfall range. Therefore, the geographical area of the state under the University jurisdiction contains the following: • three types of soils varying from alluvial to medium and heavy black soils • six agroclimatic zones. • Henceforth, has competent human resources for managing the activities of agriculture and allied sectors and is playing a pivotal role in the holistic growth and development of agriculture in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Rajmata VijayarajeScindia Krishi Vishwavidyalaya is also known as RVSKVV.

  5. CAMPUS Spread over the area of 20 acres, the university has the campus of scenic beauty and environment friendly surroundings. Therefore, the campus has infrastructure like administrative block, Central library, Computer Centre, Hostels, cafeteria, placement centre and many more. Moreover, the university campus is urban and within the city of Gwalior.

  6. SCHOLARSHIPS • The administrative office has dedicated staff to guide students through the process from start to end. Following are some of the scholarships available for the students: • National Talent Scholarship: There is a National Talent Scholarship for the students of Rajmata Scindia Krishi Vishwavidyalaya. • Junior Research Fellowship: This is provided to Ph.D. scholars enrolled in the institute. • VikramadityaYojna: This scholarship is also there for the students of V.V. Candidates need to apply to the university to seek this scholarship.

  8. PLACEMENTS The placement cell assists the students in getting job opportunities and also helps them during placements. Also, the cell counsels students and helps them in seeking scholarships and guidance related to a career at regular intervals of time. Therefore, the students are placements in companies and organisations such as DFC, Bank of India, Shriram Bio seed, Genetics India Limited, DhanukaAgritech Limited, Rajiv Gandhi Mission for Watershed Management, Pioneer Seeds Pvt. Ltd., and many more.

  9. ADMISSIONS Admission in the university is done on the basis of merit and scores through entrance tests. The admissions for UG courses are in organisation with VYAPAM or ICAR. The admissions are done on the basis of rank gain of merit rank in the exam and clearance of the medical tests. Admissions for Postgraduate programs is according to GPA scores. Also, scores of MP-PAT entrance tests are valid for the admissions.

  10. COURSES OFFERED Rajmata VijayarajeScindia Krishi Vishwavidyalaya brings numerous courses for its students across various disciplines. Likewise provides courses in bachelors, masters and PhD. Now, read below to know about courses at the university. Bachelors: The university is famous for its bachelor courses. Besides, its undergraduate courses offer a wide array of subjects in Environmental Science, Agricultural Economics and Agronomy. Furthermore, it provides course i.e. Bachelors of Science (B.Sc.). However, this course has a duration of three years.

  11. COURSES OFFERED Masters: Masters courses at the university, as a matter of fact, are also recognised for their comprehensive level of education. The university offers masters courses in Environmental Science, Genetics & Plant Breeding and Agriculture statistics. Furthermore, it provides course i.e. Masters of Science (M.Sc.). However, this course has a duration of two years. Ph.D.: Lastly, the university provides the highest level of education to scholars in the form of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). Moreover, the University also offers financial assistance to scholars during their research tenure. Likewise, the university offers two (2) specialisations in Ph.D. and that are, Genetics & Plant Breeding and Soil science & agriculture. However, this course has a duration of five years.

  12. INFRASTRUCTURE The University provides a great learning experience to its students. Additionally, university has also ensured to make the student experience better as well. Now, read below to know more about the Infrastructure at the Rajmata VijayarajeScindia Vishwavidyalaya: Central Library The university has one of the richest libraries of its kind in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Therefore, it has nearly 712 Printed books, 1298 Gifted books comprise of the collection includes textbook, Reference books, 139 e-books, 52 e-journals & 07 Printed journals and 1538 thesis for the UG, PG and Ph.D. Moreover there is a facility of E-Library. The topics of study material is Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, and other disciplines in Library.

  13. INFRASTRUCTURE Computer Laboratory The college has a computer lab with 50 desktops and a LCD projector. Moreover, each computer has been provided with internet facility. However, the lab is being developed into a resource centre for optimal use of own and outsourced resources. Therefore, All faculties of the college have been provided with a computer and internet facility at his/her work place. Hostels Hostels is a necessary part of any college. Moreover, hostels is the place which is known to be “Home Away from Home”. Campus of University offers hostel facilities for both boys and girls.

  14. INFRASTRUCTURE Medical Centre As there is inextricable linkage between health and academic performance, so there is the facility of medical centre on campus. Also, this facility shows that educational institutions today cannot harp on academic instruction alone they need health facility too. Therefore, medical centre of the University is full-fledged unit with provision for one full time Medical Officer, and two part time doctors (based on prior commitment for availing their local hospitals & services on emergency) who are assisted by supporting staff. Moreover, medical centre has fair amount of facilities like an electronic BP apparatus with pulse reader, silicone stand, frequently required medicines, dressing materials and patient bed.

  15. INFRASTRUCTURE Cafeteria Cafeteria is known as fun hub for the college students. They consider it as their adda to meet their friends, enjoy and de-stress themselves from their busy schedule. Cafeteria at the University offers multi-cuisine food items which are healthy along with affordable prices for its students. Sports Complex and Gym The university offers both indoor and outdoor sports and gym for both girls and boys. There is a modern gym with updated equipments for both boys and girls. Moreover, there is indoor stadium for indoor sports like carrom, table tennis, chess and many more. Also, the courts are present for sports like badminton, tennis, volleyball and basketball. Campus also have the dedicated space for spectator sports like Cricket and Football.
