  1. 5th Grade Trip Space Camp May 14-15, 2013

  2. Charter Bus • The motorcoach is equipped with a rest room facility for emergencies and a VCR or DVD player with color monitors for watching chaperone approved videos. The group is responsible for bring their own videos. Passengers are expected to follow the safely instructions of the driver and to not interfere with the operation of or cause physical damage to the coach. Each passenger is permitted to take one large piece of luggage which will be stored in the luggage compartment under the motorcoach. You may also take along a smaller bag which can be stored under your seat or in the overhead luggage compartment inside the coach. You will be responsible for handling your entire luggage.

  3. What to pack: • Clothing: Clothing suitable for school will be appropriate. Please make sure your child has comfortable closed toed shoes. Passengers may wish to bring a light jacket or sweater or light fleece blanket to help regulate their temperature on the bus. • Toiletries: soap, deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush • Sleeping bag or twin size sheets, blanket and pillowcase (Pillow Provided) • Towels and washcloths

  4. This weeks weather in Huntsville, Alabama • Please be sure to check the weather in Huntsville on Tuesday before we leave. • You may need to pack a light rain jacket or umbrella.

  5. Money • Spending Money: A good rule of thumb is $15.00 to $20.00 per person. • Your child will need a bag lunch for our trip down on Wednesday. All other meals are included on your trip. • *Please note that you may not eat peanut butter or banana snacks on the bus due to allergies.

  6. Electronics Policy • Policies. Music devices (DS’s, iPods, tablets, etc) may not be used without headphones. Passengers are responsible for securing and retrieving all personal belongings brought on the trip. You may use these on the bus only. • Movies watched on personal devices must be G or PG. • Please do not bring a laptop. • No texting or InstaGrammingor any form of social media (Facebook, etc.). Phones are only for emergencies, contacting parents • No phones or electronic devices may be used during camp activities. They must remain in your room. • If you do not have a cell phone, please have a parent cell phone number for the teacher chaperones where your parent can be reached.

  7. Departure and Arrival • Be at the school on Wednesday, May 14th no later than 7:45am. • The bus will leave PROMPTLY at 8:00am. • We are planning to arrive back at Sterling Thursday evening. Mr. Johnstone’s voice messages and Facebook updates will give you the most accurate arrival time. Parent chaperones: You may leave your car here (at your own risk). Please park in the visitor parking on the side near the 5th grade classrooms.
