  2. Geography • BaekduMountain - 9,002 feet • Yalu River • Yellow Sea • Korean Bay • HaeinsaTemple - 802 AD. - Holds all of Buddhist Scriptures carved onto 81,350 wooden blocks. - Still active. - One of the three jewel temples of Korea. - One of the most influential Buddhist temples.

Archeology • In 1953 Korea split into North Korea and South Korea due to a civil war involving the U.S.A. and the U.N. • Due to the war there was a huge economic decline. • Despite the war North Korea had ton of electricity and steel production. • There was many invasions on the Korean territory from the French, Japanese, and United States. • In 1910 Korea was controlled by the Japanese until 1945.

Economics • The currency of North Korea is the won (₩). • Tax in North Korea is 10% to 20%. • Natural resources: coal, lead, tungsten, zinc, graphite, magnesite, iron ore, copper, gold, pyrites, salt, fluorspar, hydropower. • North Korea’s main trade partners are China and South Korea. • The main banks in North Korea are the Central Bank of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea,
