Bataan Death March • In January of 1942 the Japanese began to occupy Manila in the Philippines. • General MacArthur ordered by FDR leaves Manila and heads to Bataan • In April the US surrenders Bataan and the remaining US soldiers are captured and marched for seven days to various POW camps (O’Donnell and Cabanataun, Palawan)
