  1. Safecom Smart Grid technology for powering & backup Cable TV networks. Safecom's proven patented DPS Ver 4 & Integrated Power Booster (Patent P)turns existing coax or power cables lines into dynamic super power highways that provide most reliable and economic powering system and network backup. DPS v4 Power Booster 4G

  2. The concept • Based on the strategic placing of intelligent power management devices throughout the network, in the event of a power outage the DPS4 draws power from the nearest available source over existing coax or power cable. Utilizing breakthrough AC/AC stabilize technology safecom's DPS4 + Power Booster ensure maximum voltage level – even over long distances.

  3. What is DPS- Ver 4 ? • A two-way RF Pass 1GHZ passive device that “toggle” available power between two distant locations. • Redirecting power from the "normally" remote powered area, to the area subject to power outage. • During normal mode of operation, when there is no power outage at either end of the pair, the DPS v4 act as power block to the other side.

  5. Power Booster (patent p) Increasing the powering area covered by power supply. Vin 50-90 Vac60Hz Vout 84V +/- 6V Power Booster solves the power distribution problem in a CATV network caused by high-resistance and low energy-efficient coax cables or power cables. The unit ensures the optimal voltage levels required in remote locations by fiber nodes, trunk amplifiers, and line extenders overcoming voltage drop along the power or coaxial able. t t US Standard Vin 42-66V Vac 60Hz Vout 62V +/- 3V EU Standard

  16. DPS4 replaces standby power supply

  17. DPS v4 advantages – reduce CAPEX and OPEX • Provides unlimited standby power. • Requires no special skills to install. • Can provide double, triple or quadruple backup at a fraction of the cost of traditional standby power systems. • No MaintenanceRequired with DPS v4! • No Additional Cost after installation!

  18. Power backup Comparisons

  19. Typical optical network powering examples

  20. HOT’s Backup powering business case. • Improving customer service and satisfaction. • Enabling HOT to add new services that required top high reliability. • Be apart of the Israeli Home Front Command new projects for National Earthquake alarm , addressable rocket alarm, Home monitoring etc. • Unlimited backup time in competition with Bezeq which are offering 8 hours backup time to ADSL & NGN networks. • Enabling integration with future mirs mobile phone networks.

  21. Summery • DPS offers most efficient and reliable backup for unlimited time. • No additional cost for HOT further to the fact that DPS unit can be reuse from old HFC network. • All existing Coax and power cables can be reuse for backup the new optical networks. • Following the government regulation for full powering backup. • DPS & Power Booster system enabling additional backup from remote central powering. • No maintenance. • Unlimited life time.
