  2. Todays focus: What are the differing Christian attitudes to abortion? Grade C • Will be able to explain what Roman Catholics and Protestants believe about abortion. Grade B • Will be able to interpret Christian beliefs on abortion in the light of a real life situation. Grade A/A* • Will be able to evaluate for themselves whether religious women should have an abortion.

All Christians believe… • God is the giver of life • God’s creation should be protected • All life has a purpose • God decides when life begins or ends • All Christians believe that life is a gift from God, that humans are • special and created in Gods image.

  7. Statement sort On the double sided sheet there are 15 different statements. Based on what we have done this lesson, decide which statements go in the Catholic column and write in the numbers in pencil. Put the remaining numbers in the other column – the “Other Christians” one. Other Christians- Liberal/ Protestant Catholics When we have agreed you have the statements in the right columns, write out three statements in each section. Question: Do you believe with the Catholic statement that life begins at conception? Explain your answer using the statements.
