  2. Power Writing is: A “recipe” that helps you write a good paragraph in six special steps: Main Idea Sentence Supporting Detail Sentence #1 Supporting Detail Sentence #2 Supporting Detail Sentence #3 Supporting Detail Sentence #4 Good Ending Sentence

  3. For example: Dogs can be very good companions for you and your family. They keep you company when you are outside playing ball. They like to play fetch and go for walks around the neighborhood. Dogs can make perfect guardians when you are home alone. Their excellent hearing will alert you to any danger. A dog would be the perfect pet for anyone! Now, let’s break it down into the Power Writing recipe!

  4. Brainstorm like a STAR! Supporting Detail #1: CONCLUSION MAIN IDEA: Supporting Detail #2: Supporting Detail #4 Supporting Detail #3

  6. Now, add details to the ideas to stretch them out into complete sentences!
