  2. PE Dress Code In accordance with the Katy ISD dress code as well as the elementary handbook, the following information does apply. For the safety and comfort of your child in PE, please have your child wear OR bring athletic shoes with a rubber sole, closed toe and full support around the heel. Flip flops, boots, open toed sandals, dress shoes, cleats, heelys, shoes with felt and shoes with a strap across the back are hazardous and therefore not permissible. As well, it is important that girls wearing any type of dress or skirt wear shorts underneath. Your child’s safety is a priority and we know you will help us, help them make safe shoe choices for PE in order to enjoy it to the best of their ability.

  3. These shoes were made for RUNNING… Tie Shoes Elastic Shoes TEKS 4.5, 4.5B and 3.5, 3.5B: Select and use proper attire that promotes participation and prevents injury.

  4. And that’s just what they’ll do… Skinny Band Shoes Are allowed as long as the soles are made of rubber. TEKS K.5 and K.5B: Explain how proper shoes and clothing promote safe play and prevent injury.

  5. One of these days these shoes are gonna score a goal for you!!! Elastic Shoes Velcro Shoes TEKS 1.5 and 1.5B: Describe the importance of protective equipment in preventing injury such as helmets, elbow/knee pads, wrist guards, proper shoes and clothing.

  6. These shoes AREN’T made for running…

  7. They’ll trip you up all day… “Heelys” and skate shoes even without the wheels: for obvious reasons are not allowed for PE classes.

  8. While these shoes may be in style, they will not help you run a mile.

  9. Hope you get the message then you won’t sit out from play!!! “Fashion shoes”: Some of the cutest shoes around…until the felt makes you slip and fall.
