  4. Waste Management The area along the waterfront was almost entirely fenced in. Trash lined the side of the street.

  5. Our Observations Very few houses were located adjacent to the waterfront, though there were some attached homes across the street. Controlled plant life was non-existent; we observed overgrown shrubs and weeds. We noticed several cranes by the marina. Port Richmond seems to involved in at least some sort of shipping business. Much of the area was off-limits to most observers. Some of the stores and services present along the edge of Staten Island include a local mechanic, a run-down woodworking design building and a Dunkin’ Donuts.

  6. Conclusion The part of Port Richmond we observed was worn down. Graffiti outlined many of its walls and trash its streets. A red shopping cart was found just resting in the middle of the sidewalk. Along the waterfront, Port Richmond seems to ignore aesthesicsin order to accommodate its manual laborers.
