  1. Spurious high-ET photons in CMS Maya Stavrianakou FNAL G4 Technical Forum

  2. Spurious Neutral Energy Problem S. Dasu, University of Wisconsin • L. Agostino et al tracked e/ L1 rate inconsistency between the binned QCD and the large minbias samples to a bug that resulted in large spurious energy deposits by slow neutrons • Requiring that there be generator level energy within R<0.7 of e/ candidate fixes the problem G4 Technical Forum

  3. Single e/ integrated rate using binned and unbinned (no pile-up) Pythia QCD jet data Problem was traced to a ~x10 bug in neutron absorption cross section at G4 level There should be generator level energy in the region of the e/γ candidate if it is not fake • The energy can be a fragment of a jet - cannot simply go by particle type matching • Require that there be energy from any stable particle inthe region of the photon (|ΔR|<0.5) which is at least 70% of the L1 e/γ candidate ET Significantly higher rate with unbinned data!
