What is it? • A national organization for scholars • The purpose of the NJHS is “to create enthusiasm for Scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render Service, to promote Leadership, to develop Character, and to encourage Citizenship”. • NJHS is a service organization that encourages students to make a difference in the world around them.

  3. What are the requirements? • Membership will involve • attending an induction ceremony (January ) • attending monthly meetings • maintaining your GPA • organizing and participating in service projects (at least ten hours of volunteer service is required) • being a leader through example at F8/9 • We are requesting $10.00 in dues.

  4. Volunteer Hours • Volunteer service to school, community, world • The ten hours required before May 14. • The hours include any service organizations, church groups, volunteer work you do. • You will need a verification form for your hours • You also need to participate in the Monument NJHS service learning projects (this counts towards your hours).

  5. Important Dates (Put these in your phone) • We meet in the library on the first Wednesday of most months: • December 4th • January 15th • February 19th • March 5th • April 9th • and a lunch for our last meeting on May 7th. • January 29th: Practice for Induction Ceremony • January 30: Induction on 6:30 PM in the Cafeteria • May 14th — SERVICE HOURS DUE

  6. Service Learning • 10 hours are required by May 14th • Complete the service form—found on our website OR in Mrs. Stabolepszy’s office

  7. Dues • We are asking for $10.00 in dues. • If you can’t afford the dues, you can apply for a scholarship. • Dues goes towards the induction ceremony and supplies. • Dues are due at the January 15th meeting.

  8. Induction Ceremony • January 30th • 6:30 - 8:00 PM • Requirement of NJHS • Sign up to help set up (it’s good for service hours!)
