  2. What is NJHS? • The organization is National Junior Honor Society. • The purpose is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, promote leadership, develop character, and encourage good citizenship.

  3. Criteria for Selection • Complete and submit an application. • Application was reviewed. • Five teachers other than Ms. Hassan and Ms. Fung reviewed the list of names. • Selection based on meeting GPA requirements and being a good citizen. • Remain a member in good standing: maintain high GPA, good citizenship, current with volunteer hours and take on leadership within the club.

  5. Days and Times of Meetings • First Wednesday of the month – all NJHS members • Second Wednesday of the month – leaders of NJHS • Lunch, G-43 • Additional times as needed.

  6. Volunteering • To remain a NJHS member in good standing you must complete 4 volunteer hours per 6 weeks. • You will receive the form now, other copies are available for printing out on our website. • You can volunteer in a teacher’s classroom, on campus or in Davis.

  7. Upcoming Volunteer Opportunity • This Saturday at Harper Garden. • 9am – Noon. • Dress in layers. • Bring a water bottle. • Check the Harper website calendar. • See Mrs. Juchau for more information.
