  1. 6 Essential Time Management Tips/Skills for Students gurukulschoolofdesign.com/blog/design-process-6-essential-tips-to-master-the-art-of-time-management People often say that there isn't enough time in a day to do everything they need and though that may be true in some ways, let's not forget that the key to any success lies in two magical words: time management. For those of us in the creative field, mastering the art of time management is essential to ensure that there's enough time for our creativity to expand and to give ourselves enough time to reflect on our work. Here are six crucial lessons to help you get things done and perfect your craft. Lesson 1: Understand how you work Try to truly understand how you work and keep a record of every task you do as accurately as possible. You can do so by using timekeeping apps (if you prefer the digital route) or simply via the pen and pencil method. Keeping an accurate record for an entire work week will give you the insight to create a better working schedule for yourself. Lesson 2: Plan ahead by creating a work schedule Balance your daily workload by planning ahead at least a week in advance. Set weekly goals and divide them into smaller daily tasks to paint a clear picture of the upcoming week. Hot tip: always remember to include breaks in your schedule as we function best when there's a clear reward ahead! Lesson 3: Prioritise Always prioritise work that is challenging or time-sensitive and if you ever find yourself stuck in a creative rut, simply switch to a simpler task. Maybe you have some emails to reply to? Patterns to cut? Buttons to sort? Lesson 4: Always give yourself extra time to breathe Think of it like insurance for yourself. Set yourself deadlines before the actual deadline. That way, you'll have enough time to complete it if a problem arises and if you're done early, you've just earned yourself some time to reflect on your work and breathe. Lesson 5: Balance work and fun The saying goes 'all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy' and truthfully, nothing helps to increase productivity than actually having some fun every now and then. Take a break to destress, relax and get yourself inspired. Lesson 6: Reflect, celebrate and evaluate 1/3
