  1. Language Arts Daily Schedule • Monday – this may vary but is normally: 11 – 11:15 Whole Group Grammar Lesson The grammar packet is passed out and gone over as a review of basic grammar. Example: Verbs, Nouns, synonyms etc. 11:15 - 1130 First Center 11:30– 11:45 Whole group Writing Lesson 11:45-12:00 Second Center 12:00 – 12:15 Silent individual reading • Tuesday - this may vary but is normally: 11- 11:15 Individual seatwork – work on writing assignment 11:15 – 11:30 First Center 11:30 – 11:45 Reading comprehension practice 11:45 – 12:00 Second Center 12:00- 12:15 Silent individual reading

Schedule Continued… • Wednesday – this may vary but is normally: 11:00 – 11:30 Choice Activity • Work on writing assignment • Work on grammar packet • If done with both of the above may read • Thursday – this may vary but is normally: 11- 11:15 Individual seatwork – work on writing assignment 11:15 – 11:30 First Center 11:30 – 11:45 Reading comprehension practice 11:45 – 12:00 Second Center 12:00 - 12:15 Silent individual reading • Friday – this may vary but is normally 11:00- 11:30 Library 11:30 – 12:00 Spelling test 12:00 – 12:15 Silent individual reading

  3. Centers • Center – Grammar and fluency Center Students do one page of their grammar packet Students then work in partners to reading out loud to each other the weekly passage. They time each other for 1 minute and then write the score on a graph. • Center – Words their Way Center Monday – cut/sort and write their word study words in their agendas Tuesday – Technology – students work in spellcity.com playing games using the word study words. Thursday - Work with a partner to review words – they may choose the activity. Word search through book, practice spelling test, create a collage with the words, etc. Friday – Word study assessment *Grammar Packets due on Friday.
