  1. MTAC 134 Implement Optional FSS Presort Parameters

  2. Defining Workgroup 134 • Work Group Charter • Develop presort software parameters and implementation plan to support defined FSS scheme bundles and pallets. • Publish Business Rules that can be used by presort vendors in coding efforts. • Identify the timing of software and labeling list updates related to FSS deployment. • Communicating the FSS Label List and the timing of updates. • Target timeline to complete: July 2010

  3. Flats Sequencing System

  4. FSS Pallet Parameters • FSS defined and developed parameters: • Container • FSS Scheme pallet (L006b) • FSS Facility pallet (L006a) • Presort • Preparation limited to bundles on pallets only • Driven by FSS Label List and sort plan contents • Maintaining the current minimums and maximums 4

  5. FSS Bundle Parameters • FSS defined and developed parameters: • Bundle • Bundle creation driven by L006b • FSS bundle can contain • Carrier Route Rate • Automation Rate • Non-Automation Rate • Preferred bundle size is four to six inches • variability allowed from 3 to 6.5 inches. • Leveling’ is encouraged, to prevent the creation of less than 3 inch bundles. • Only one ‘overflow’ bundle of less than minimum size is allowed for each individual sort scheme.

  6. FSS & PostalOne! • FSS defined and developed parameters: • L006b FSS bundles will be treated as 5 digit bundles in PostalOne! • L006b FSS Scheme pallets will be treated as 3 digit pallets in PostalOne! • L006a FSS Facility pallet will be treated as a SCF pallet in PostalOne! • Testing in the PostalOne! TEM environment, still looking for testers 6

  7. FSS Piece Parameters • FSS defined and developed parameters: • When using FSS Optional Preparation all pieces in FSS bundles must contain a barcode • Current piece minimums required for pieces to be included in FSS bundles 7
