  4. What is IIF? • IIF is a commitment, both personal and organizational, to create an environment absent of injury. It is NOT a Goal, Result or Trophy to seek or acquire. It is however, a Mindset Intolerant of any Level, Frequency of Severity of Injury… (JMJ)®

  9. Why IIF?? • Rules and Regulations are NOT enough • Safety Cops are ineffective • One injured worker is Unacceptable • Rules + PPE Safe • At Manson – “Nothing we do is worth anyone getting hurt”

  11. If we continue to put ourselves at Risk and allow our co-workers to be at Risk, someone will get hurt… It is not a matter of IF but WHEN! So, We must ask…. Certainty

  12. Why do we put ourselves At Risk? • Schedule • Budget • Time • Equipment or the Lack thereof • We did it this way – Last Time • It is what the company Expects of us!!!

  13. Three Key Challenges.. • Observing my co-workers and catching myself preoccupied or “Asleep at the Wheel.” • Speaking up when I see someone At Risk. • Being open to change when someone speaks to me.

  15. So who do we need to work on to get to an Injury Free workplace? • Simply work on ourselves • Work on our relationships • Work on our Company outlook • And commit to change… • Oh Yes… And this does take time and energy…

Manson’s Process • Everyone is worthy and deserves treatment as a human.. • We introduce IIF and it’s initial concept immediately upon hire. • Within 60 – 90 days all employees are given a 4 hour IIF orientation. • IIF in Action training has been given to All supervisors and follow ups are being planned. • Local “Champions” groups continue to carry on conversations with field and project personnel.
