  9. Dry Run 2012 - Challenges faced • Setup of Wiener crates: • CANbus problems: bus terminators, parallel activity of users, bitrates, distance... • Hardware failures: LAV_3 crate, CEDAR fan tray, power supply. • Investigating the cause of high failure rate: • Misplaced hardware: LKr_L0 crate installed in different place, Clock_02 crate not arrived. • Setup of LAV Front-End boards: • CANbus problems: bus terminators, parallel activity of users, bitrates, distance... (more on this later). Siena, August 2012, Jonas Arroyo

  10. Dry Run 2012 - Challenges faced • Delayed infrastructure delivery impacted the schedule • CAN buses. • TCP/IP networking. • Power, racks in the farm room. • Building works. • Control room refurbishment. • Hardware delivery. • CAEN HV • Integration during the Dry Run dropped due to delays in the delivery of h/w and s/w (OPC Servers). • Validation/integration efforts ongoing (more in next slides). Siena, August 2012, Jonas Arroyo

  11. Detectors and subsystems: Readiness for Technical Run 2012 - Common components: Wiener, CAEN - Detectors review

  12. Common components: Wiener • Based on standard fwWiener component of JCOP Fw • Significantly reduces the hardware-integration effort. • NA62 enhancements • New operation panels. • Integration into the FSM tree (hierarchical control). • Set up of default alarms. • Request during the Dry Run to enhance information in user interface. • Status of work: READY • Dry Run: successful control of all 6 available crates. • Ready for immediate integration of missing/damaged crates. Siena, August 2012, Jonas Arroyo

  13. Common components: CAEN HV • Control based on JCOP fwCaen component • “Classic” CAEN SY1527/2527 and A1833 board: • Will be used by LKr, CHOD for Technical Run 2012. • Status of work: READY(already demonstrated in 2011). • New CAEN SY4527 crate and A1536N board: • Will be used by LAV, MUV, CEDAR, SAC for Technical Run 2012. • Completely new control chain, late delivery (h/w and s/w): • New OPC Server (v5), firmware from CAEN (beta only in July). • Not validated, not integrated with JCOP Fw/PVSS . • Issues with backward compatibility with older crates, OS. • Significant effort in EN/ICE to validate/integrate as soon as possible: Benjamin Farnham, Roman Fedoseev, Manuel Gonzalez. • Status of work: ADVANCED . • To complete: final validation, panel enhancements. Siena, August 2012, Jonas Arroyo

  14. Common components: CAEN SY4527 integration fwCaen JCOP/Fw update OPC items modification Firmware upgraded Siena, August 2012, Jonas Arroyo

  15. LKr for 2012 Technical Run • User Requirement Document received.√ • Status: no changes since Spring • LKr Low Voltage: READY for commissioning. • LKr High Voltage (1, SY1527): READY,crate still to be integrated in FSM. • LKr L0 Wiener crate: software READY, crate not installed in the right place. Siena, August 2012, Jonas Arroyo

  16. LKr for 2012 Technical Run: UI Siena, August 2012, Jonas Arroyo

  17. LAV for 2012 Technical Run • User Requirement Document received. √ • LAV Front End boards, initial integration by Vito Palladino: • Managed to control in spite of CANbus problems (more in next slide). • Standalone application, pending integration with FSM in the final application. • Wiener crates: • READY LAV_01, LAV_02, LAV_03 h/w damaged. • CAEN HV (3 SY4527 for 3 station): PENDING (Vito?) • LAV Environment Monitor: • Application running again. • To be replaced by VAISALA sensor: PENDING (men power). Siena, August 2012, Jonas Arroyo

  18. LAV FE boards: CANbus communication • Problem exposed during Dry Run 2012 • Diagnostic effort with EN/ICE expert help and tools • voltage levels out of CAN specification: • exact reason/impact not yet understood; grounding? • Needs to be understood Kvaser LAV FE Kvaser LAV FE Siena, August 2012, Jonas Arroyo
