  2. What is Utilization Report? The Utilization Report is tool used : • To Compare Equipments in the Marine Corp Fleet. • To determine how equipments are used. This is based on • Cost • Miles • Maintenance

  3. Log into FA anywhere web,https://fa.hqmc.usmc.mil/infocenter/FASuiteInfoCenter.htmand click on the “Reporting” Tab

  4. Click on the + sign next to USMC Customs Reports for a drop down list and select Utilization

  5. From here you can select choice of report, either by “Department, Location or Maintenance Class (TAM), ” Click your choice for the Report Viewer box to popup, then enter your criteria. If you have popup blocker, hold down the Control key before clicking.

  6. Click on List under Select Maintenance Class(es) for a popup box (please notice these are USMC generic classes).

  7. The total number of items would be displayed at the top and the list will be displayed in the middle of the page. You either search by item # or description

  8. If you know the item #/description name, enter it in the search field and hit the search button. The item will display in the middle of the page.

  9. Select your item of choice to populate the Box on the right, then hit “Apply”. You can also select Add all # (where # = number of item in the class)

  10. Click on List under Select Department for a popup box.

  11. The total number of items would be displayed at the top and the list will be displayed in the middle of the page. You either search by item # or description

  12. If you know the item #/description name, enter it in the search field and hit the search button. The item will display in the middle of the page. (Item # = The Location ID)

  13. Select your item of choice to populate the Box on the right, then hit “Apply”. You can also select Add all # (where # = number of item (location) in the class)

  14. Click on List under Select Assigned Location(s) for a popup box.

  15. The total number of items would be displayed at the top and the list will be displayed in the middle of the page. You either search by item # or description

  16. If you know the item #/description name, enter it in the search field and hit the search button. The item will display in the middle of the page. (Item # = The Location ID)

  17. Select your item of choice to populate the Box on the right, then hit “Apply”. You can also select Add all # (where # = number of item (location) in the class)

  18. Click on List under Select Beginning Character of Equip Number(s) for a popup box.

  19. The total number of items would be displayed at the top and the list will be displayed in the middle of the page. Search by first character (either number or letter)

  20. If you know the first character, enter it in the search field and hit the search button. The item will display in the middle of the page.

  21. Select your item of choice to populate the box on the right, then hit Apply. You can also select Add all # (where # = number of item in the class)

  22. Click on the drop down arrow under Select Meter Type(s) to select the parameter to use, then click add

  23. Enter the % Threshold for Utilization (between 1-100). This is used to define the percentage of usage.The % entered is used to separate the rate of usage in color on the report under “UTIL (%) Mean”. RED for % equal or lesser than what you entered, BLUE for % greater than what you entered.

  24. Enter a range (%) to display the Utilization percentage Mean.(Enter 0 and 2000 in both fields respectively to cover a large Mean value)

  25. Click on Show Report to generate the report. (The button would change to “Processing…”)

  26. You will see a Report similar to the one below.

  27. Fields/Button definition. • EQUIP NO – This is the equipment number or ID • TAM – Equipment Maintenance Class • MAINT CLASS DESCRIPTION – This is the class description of maintenance • MODEL YEAR – The model year of the equipment • AGE (Yrs) – The period the Marine Corp has had the equipment (1.5 yrs = 1 yr and 6 months, NOT 1 yr, 5 months • ORIG COST – This is the original cost during purchase • METER TYPE – The measurement meter type either in Hours, Miles or in Kilometer (for Overseas) • LTD READ – Life to date reading. The number shown here is the last reading. • AVG UTIL (Per Yr) – This is calculated by dividing LTD READ by AGE (per equipment) • LAST 12 MO READ – This show the amount of usage in the last 12 months (in METER TYPE) • TOTAL MAINT COST – This is the lifetime cost spent for maintenance on the equipment • AVG MAINT COST – This is calculated by dividing TOTAL MAINT COST by LTD READ (per equipment) • LAST READ DATE – This is the date the LTD READ was entered • UTIL (%) MEAN – Calculated by dividing AVG UTIL by CLASS MEAN (Per Yr), then multiply result by 100 • CLASS MEAN (Per Yr) – This is the average usage per year of the equipment class (in METER TYPE) • CLASS COUNT – This is total number of active equipment in the class in entire USMC

  28. To Print the report, click on the third button on the top left corner

  29. Select ALL to print all pages or enter a range then click Print

  30. By default, it will convert the report to a PDF format and will be ready for print.Proceed by clicking File then Print.

  31. To Export the report, click on the second button on the top left corner

  32. Click on the dropdown arrow to select the type of format.

  33. Select All or enter the page range you would like to export and click Export

  34. If you select the format to be Microsoft Excel/Word you would be prompted to save the export. (View image on right)If you select Adobe PDF format, you would see the report in PDF format from which you can save a copy or print. (View image on left)
